The Opportunity

Solarcore is an advanced materials technology company developing the most scientifically innovative thermal solutions on the planet. Our mission : solve the world's biggest thermal efficiency challenges by revolutionizing the outdated world of insulation.

We're seeking a Product Developer to help bring new-to-world insulation technologies to life across footwear, outdoor apparel, shelters, and more. This role blends creativity with execution to translate ideas into tangible, testable, and market-ready products.

You'll work closely with our Product Development, R&D, Sales, and Operations teams to develop samples, manage testing, research new methods, and maintain our internal material libraries. The ideal candidate is curious, hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

This position reports to the Director of Product Development and will work closely with the VP of Product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead hands-on product development : from early-stage concepts to final samples, with a focus on footwear, outdoor apparel, and shelters.
  • Create and prepare samples for technical testing, marketing, and sales purposes.
  • Research ASTM methods and testing protocols, and collaborate with R&D on experimental design and data interpretation.
  • Maintain and update insulation, fabric, and adhesive libraries, ensuring they are organized, searchable, and current.
  • Acquire and analyze samples to support product positioning and innovation.
  • Assist in the creation of application guides and technical consulting.
  • Oversee testing requests, from submission to results interpretation, and work with the team to translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Support shipping and logistical needs for prototypes, samples, and testing materials.

Experience & Requirements

  • 5+ years of product development experience in footwear, outdoor apparel, shelters, or other relevant industries.
  • Hands-on experience with cutting, converting, and material fabrication (CAD experience a plus).
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret testing data and generate actionable insights.
  • Experience managing material libraries and maintaining product samples.
  • Highly organized, with experience tracking multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Passion for collaborative innovation and willingness to get hands-on in the lab, shop, or field.

    Compensation :

    This role pays between $75,000-$89,000 plus an annual bonus and benefits based on experience.
