Program Assistant (URM)

This Program Assistant is responsible for completing program support services and administrative tasks to support the Unaccompanied Refugee Minor (URM) Program within the assigned region of Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains. The position provides support to programs serving foster youth and foster families.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Reviews and tracks required documentation and manages filing according to regulatory requirements and agency.
  • Supports data tracking and reporting according to program requirements.
  • Supports with financial process including on-call, expense reports, credit card logs, and foster care billing, working directly with program and financial staff to ensure timely and accurate reports.
  • Assists with program and agency groups and events, including recruitment, retention and marketing events.
  • Supports the program staff in providing or setting up comprehensive services for clients to include but not limited to : therapeutic, health, educational, cross-cultural and other pertinent resources for each case.
  • Drives or arranges for transportation for clients to appointments when appropriate.
  • Obtains the services of an interpreter whenever necessary to ensure culturally and linguistically appropriate delivery of services.
  • Participates in community outreach activities that advance the work and message of the URM program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, able to utilize electronic data systems, and able to use other equipment such as the copier, scanner, and calculator.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly in verbal and written form.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in a team.
  • Must be detail-oriented, with good organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
  • Must possess a valid Colorado driver's license and be able to travel throughout the agency service.
  • Must carry automobile liability insurance at the level of $100,000 / 300,000 / 100,000.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the mission, values, and vision of Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One or more years of relevant work experience and / or training preferred.
