Welder Helper / Labor helper

Purpose :

The purpose of this position is to provide the welders help with the necessary duties to ensure welders lay down high quality welds. These duties can include all phases of the pre-cut, collet and setup up.

Responsibilities :

• Able to organize and prioritize activities to meet deadlines.
• Work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Read blueprints, punch holes and brackets using iron workers, saws, grinders, sanders and drill press and other hand tools.
• Clean workpieces using a grinder or scraper to remove foreign matter such as slag, scale, and rust.
• Read and interpret production schedules and blueprints to determine the specifications for a project.
• Collect pre-cut and set up phases together for welding.
• Maintain a clean and hazard free work environment for efficient work operations
• Wear appropriate protective clothing in compliance with safety protocols
• Maintain a positive attitude and high level of dependability and integrity.
• Operate with high quality standards.
