Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) - Recovery Room (PACU)

Location : Westfield, IN

Department : Surgery Center

Position Summary :

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Surgery Center team in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). In this role, you will care for patients recovering from surgical procedures, ensuring a safe and smooth transition from anesthesia to discharge. The ideal candidate is highly organized, clinically confident, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities :

Provide direct nursing care to patients in the recovery phase following surgery

Closely monitor vital signs, level of consciousness, pain, and surgical site integrity

Administer prescribed medications and treatments

Recognize and respond to post-operative complications and emergencies

Collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams to ensure coordinated care

Educate patients and their families on post-operative instructions and discharge plans

Maintain accurate documentation and uphold confidentiality standards

Ensure compliance with infection control and safety guidelines

Participate in quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives

Qualifications :

Current and unrestricted RN license in the state of Indiana

Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; PACU, critical care, or surgical experience preferred

BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required

Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills

Excellent communication, patient education, and teamwork abilities

Ability to manage multiple patients and priorities in a busy environment

Work Environment :

Outpatient surgery center setting with primarily day-time hours

No nights, weekends, or major holidays required
