About the Job
This role has direct responsibility for utilizing the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to efficiently group orders into “waves” for picking and fulfillment. This person will help optimize warehouse operations by considering factors such as delivery dates, priorities, and available labor, ensuring smooth and timely order processing.
Job Responsibilities

- Create and manage wave plans in Manhattan Associates Warehouse Management System (WMS) to ensure optimal order picking and shipping efficiency
- Monitor and prioritize orders based on customer requirements, inventory levels, and shipping schedules
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors, inventory control, and shipping teams to ensure smooth execution of wave plans
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to wave planning and order fulfilment, identifying areas for improvement
- Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to wave planning, order picking, and shipping
- Maintain and update WMS configurations and settings to support efficient wave planning processes
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance warehouse operations
- Ensure any process executed in the Order Fulfilment Planning OPS is documented in SOP format and maintain the SOPs going forward.
- Understanding Distribution Center Fulfilment capacity to communicate risks when the workload surpasses the capacity
- Provide support to the DC Operation when necessary
- Monitoring real-time inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock is available for upcoming waves, identifying potential shortages, and taking corrective actions.
- Working closely with other departments like customer service, shipping, and receiving to ensure smooth order fulfilment and address any issues arising during the wave planning process.
- Direct, train, and delegate tasks to warehouse associates involved in Wave Planning
Qualifications
Education
HS Diploma / Bachelor’s degree requiredExperience
3-5 Years of progressive Distribution Operations experienceUnderstanding of warehouse operations, including picking, packing, and shipping processesKnowledge and Skills
Proficient in Manhattan Associates Warehouse Management System (WMS)Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify bottlenecks and optimize wave planning strategiesExcellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teamsTechnical capacity with Excel, SAP, Outlook and Voice Picking TechnologyPharmaceutical Regulatory statues, GMP compliancePhysical Demands and Abilities
The incumbent typically works in a warehouse environment.The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of a warehouse or distribution center.Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday.The incumbent is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 40 pounds.Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range - $60,000 – 75,000 USD
The compensation range provided reflects the expected base compensation only and does not include potential bonuses, incentive plans, or benefits. An individual’s final compensation offer will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to education level, relevant experience, training, and geographic location.
