MA Council Application Process

Preparing to Apply :

The main purpose of the MA Council is to support MA professional development, facilitate MA collaboration and retention, and to discuss / focus on initiatives, topics and / or system wide issues that directly impact MAs. Benefits of being part of the MA Council include professional development, shared learning, growth and development of leadership skills, networking with colleagues, enhanced job satisfaction, peer recognition, and improved understanding of functionality of the organization. This council will also collaboratively engage with leadership and support departments in change management, problem solving and decision making. The MA Council leaders will collaborate to align and support MA practices across the medical group primary care and specialty care service lines : establishing standardized concepts for workflows, supporting quality, patient care, improvement opportunities, and staff satisfaction initiatives - ultimately improving MA job satisfaction and retention through these initiatives. MAs must agree to attend 75% of meetings per fiscal year. WebEx will be a back-up option. Travel will be required away from your home base and there may be some additional work outside of the 1 hour monthly meetings. MAs will be compensated their hourly rate for attending monthly meetings.

If you are an MA and interested in joining the MA Council, you are required to fill out this application, which consists of a few open-ended questions and will require a recommendation form to be filled out by your direct manager.

Requirements for applying to the MA Council :

• Must have completed a Medical Assisting Program and either be actively Certified or Registered
• In good standing
• Preferred candidates need to have prior healthcare industry experience (such as Medical Assistant, Patient Service Representative, Referral Specialist, Patient Care Tech

The application process will be open from September 1 - October 1. The final list of selected council members will be communicated in mid November.
