Position Summary :
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for full cycle accounting operations, with a strong emphasis on manufacturing cost accounting. This role is key to maintaining financial accuracy and supporting strategic decision-making for our manufacturing and business operations. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of relevant experience and a proven track record in both general accounting and inventory / cost management systems.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee all aspects of full cycle accounting, including accounts payable / receivable, general ledger, month-end close, and bank reconciliations
- Manage and analyze manufacturing cost accounting, including bill of materials, work-in-progress (WIP), labor, and overhead allocations
- Prepare and maintain financial statements, internal reports, and supporting documentation
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Collaborate with operations and inventory teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost tracking
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies
- Assist in external audit preparation and support
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and financial reporting accuracy
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldMinimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory valuation methodsExperience with QuickBooks requiredExperience with Fishbowl Inventory software highly desiredAdvanced Excel skills and ability to work with large data setsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to communicate effectively across departmentsCPA or CMA certification is a plus, but not requiredSchedule & Work Environment :
