About Layer
Layer is on a mission to bring a new medium of contemporary fine art to life, and see artists paid. We collaborate with the world’s leading digital artists to curate a continuous stream of living, evolving work, brought to life on the first museum-grade Canvas built for digital art.
Role Overview
The Head of Marketing will be the protector of the Layer brand, and the amplifier of our artists.
You’ll own the brand’s positioning and presence across digital, press, and experiential channels. This is a hands‑on role for a builder, someone who can move seamlessly between developing sales materials, overseeing major art world activations, and getting into the weeds on social strategy. You’ll translate the creative world of Layer into campaigns and moments that expand awareness, drive desire, and deepen credibility.
The right candidate is a strategic doer : equal parts storyteller, operator, and tastemaker. No big-agency ego, just a relentless drive to put great work out into the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Protect and evolve the Layer brand, ensuring every asset, event, and story feels cohesive and elevated.
- Manage PR, partnerships, and content to build awareness among collectors, curators, and cultural audiences.
- Oversee social media, newsletters, and digital storytelling, translating curatorial narratives into daily content.
- Collaborate with Curatorial and Product teams to bring artist stories and releases to life across channels.
- Build Layer’s marketing calendar, integrating exhibitions, events, and collaborations.
- Lead agency and freelancer partners, ensuring work is on‑brand and on‑time.
- Create and track marketing KPIs to measure impact and inform growth decisions.
- Partner with leadership on go‑to‑market plans across B2C (collectors, galleries) and B2B (hospitality, design).
