POSITION DESCRIPTION :
The UI / UX Designer will be responsible for designing and developing intuitive user interfaces and experiences for applications. They will collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and business analysts to ensure user-centered design. Furthermore, they will conduct usability testing, wireframing, and prototyping to refine and enhance designs, ensuring the final product meets user needs and business objectives.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, or related field4+ years working with user-centered designPortfolio showcasing strong design and research abilitiesExtensive experience in large scale design and implementation projectsExperience with developing inclusive design for all populations by following the guidelines from WCAGMasters in User Centered Design, or related field (desired)Experience working with education systems or Department of Education (desired)CERTIFICATIONS :
Certified Usability Analyst (CUA) or equivalentRESPONSIBILITIES :
Conduct user research, usability testing, and stakeholder interviews to assist with design decisionsCreate wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for responsive web applicationsCollaborate with developers to ensure feasibility and implementation accuracyEnsure designs meet DOE accessibility, branding, and usability standards (WCAG 2.1+)SKILLS :
Proficient working with Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch, Axure, HTML / CSS, JavaScript, usability testing tools, MS Visio / Lucid ChartAbility to recognize and understand design debtAbility to clearly communicate user-centered methods and their valuesExcellent analytical and critical thinking skillsAbility to present design to stakeholders and implement design feedbackAbility to work collaboratively with cross functional teams as well as independentlyBasic knowledge of the Waterfall development methodology
