Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Hematology / Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a 13-day locum tenens assignment in New York. This opportunity begins with orientation on Jan 2, 2026, and clinical work starting Jan 5, 2026. The role features day shifts from 07 : 00 to 19 : 30, Monday through Friday, with a total of 13 shifts per month and the option to add weekends if minimum shifts are met. Join our client’s inpatient team providing consults and management for a diverse population of hematology and oncology patients.

Responsibilities and Duties
Provide inpatient hematology / oncology consultationsAssess, diagnose, monitor, and manage patients with various cancers and benign or malignant tumorsPrescribe and administer chemotherapy and biotherapyPerform and interpret diagnostic tests and therapeutic modalities within specialty scopeImplement therapeutic interventions for specific conditionsPerform arterial puncture and blood gas samplingManage superficial wounds, including debridement, incision, and drainage of superficial abscessesInsert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or orogastric tubesComplete death certificate protocolsRemove central venous cathetersAdditional Information
Must hold an active New York NP licenseRequired board certifications : Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGACNP-BC), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGPCNP-BC), Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP-BC), Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)Required certifications : ARC-PA, ACLS, BCLSMust demonstrate recent competence in chemotherapy / biotherapy administration (minimum 10 cases in past 12 months)Opportunity to add weekend shifts if 13-shift minimum is metBenefits
