\nSetting : Residential Programs will include but are not limited to.

\n ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : \n \n
Serves as a member of an interdisciplinary team and is responsible for coordinating and following through on provisions of health care services for assigned program(s).\n\tArranges medical services for Persons Supported(Individuals) and issues medical referrals as needed.\n\tProvides follow-up on medical problems for Persons Supported(Individuals).\n\tConducts training for staff in medical administration, personal hygiene, basic first aid, dental hygiene, infection control, adaptive equipment, vital signs, signs and symptoms of illness and other in-services as may be necessary to meet needs of persons served.\n\tHandles control of communicable diseases and infections through identification and assessment, reporting to consulting physician and implementation of appropriate protective and preventive measures and staff training in regard to infection control.\n\tParticipates in interdisciplinary team meetings and annual reviews as required by each division.\n\tMonitors required staff health records and provides tests in accordance with regulatory agency requirements.\n\tProvides immediate first aid with referral to outside emergency services or private physician.\n\tParticipates in routine individual case reviews.\n\tPrepares and maintains medical documentation on each person served.\n\tAdministers medications when appropriate and supervises certified staff in administration. Supervises storage of medications.\n\tProvides supervision and training for Licensed Practical Nurses and / or less experienced Registered Nurses during their tenure at agency.\n\tProvides first aid and attends to emergency needs of\n\tMaintains Nursing office and orders supplies as required.\n\tTransports persons served to appointments as necessary.\n\tAttends team meetings and required in-service as scheduled.\n\tVisits persons served at home as requested by Director or designee.\n\tKeeps abreast of changes in Nursing field.\n\tPerforms other related duties as requested.\n\n QUALIFICATIONS

Valid New York State Driver’s License is preferred but not required.\n\tLicense and current registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York\n\tCPR / BLS Certification\n\tAbility to read, write, speak and understand English\n\tGood oral and written communication skills\n\tGood organizational skills\n\tInterpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with coworkers, employees, individuals, families and outside contacts\n\tMust be able to maintain the strictest confidentiality\n\tKnowledge of equipment typically used by persons receiving services, including wheelchairs and adaptive devices.\n\tMust be willing to work at various program sites\n\n EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE \n \n
Graduate of an accredited program of professional nursing\n\tAt least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in the delivery of community-based health services to individuals with developmental disabilities.\n\n COMPENSATION : \n \n
$48-52 / hr.\n\n
