Mechanical Superintendent

Mechanical Superintendent The Mechanical Superintendent manages and oversees the day–to–day mechanical operations at the construction site of Solar, BESS, and Microgrid projects. The Mechanical Superintendent’s primary purpose is to ensure that all construction projects are being built to VEP’s specifications and project requirements.

The Mechanical Superintendent will coordinate with all subcontractors, labor, and site logistics to ensure that construction will be on schedule.  The Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for prompt and accurate communication with the Project Managers and Engineers about the status of a project.

All employees are responsible for ensuring VEP’s quality and safety standards are upheld throughout all stages of the project.

Responsibilities :

• Plan and direct the mechanical work activities on job sites.
• Work with Project Superintendent, Electrical Superintendent, and Project Manager in development of project schedules and updates, and look-ahead activities.
• Direct subcontractors and other personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
• Coordination of mechanical subcontractor(s), material, and equipment needed to meet schedules.
• Ensure work teams have needed resources and support.
• Work with VEP QA team to ensure quality control of work performed, including self-performed and subcontracted work.
• Support project management with planning and utilization of proper means and methods for mechanical activities.
• Analyze situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options; and recommend / implement appropriate course of action.
• Adhere to and support the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental Policies.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.

Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state / province, and federal / national statutes and guidelines to ensure compliance.
