Roles & Responsibilities :
The Estimator / Glazier position is the primary sales position in the company. Estimators are charged with delivering the customer experience in the home and / or showroom. Duties include, but are not limited to :
Interact with customers in the home and / or showroom to develop a complete understanding of customer need(s)Make proactive suggestions of company products & services that address customer need(s)Convey and manage realistic customer expectationsAs appropriate, accurately measure rough openings / space to facilitate accurate pricing and orderingGenerate legible and accurate shop drawings for quotes / jobs as requiredDevelop professional quotation(s) and present to customer(s) in a prompt fashionCapture all additional relevant details about the customer and / or job location to facilitate a successfulEffectively communicate job and customer details to other team members, including front office and Installation to facilitate success.Entry of relevant details into company sales software in a timely mannerProactively follow up with customers on pending sales quotesProactively communicate with company vendors, including ordering of materials required for sold jobsPromptly follow up with customers post-installation to ensure that they are satisfied with the materials, workmanship, and service that the customer received.Self-generate leads through effective promotion of company products and services to potential customers through a variety of means including, but not limited to home shows, B2B networking, cold-calling, etc.Thoroughly inspect job materials, ensuring the product(s) are the correct size & style, and that there is no obvious product damage or flaws on product(s) required to complete job(s)Load required job materials to installation vehicle(s), including redundant materials, tools, job folder / paperwork, safety equipment etc...Communicate to office AND customer if we'll be late for scheduled installation appointmentUpon arrival at customers home, validate the work to be completed, the product(s) to be installed, installation location(s), and the estimated time it will take to complete the job, and customer expectations, and manage those expectations accordingly.Install all products and services included in the work order, troubleshoot, and strive to resolve any installation problems that might occur on-siteIf it's not possible to safely perform a quality service or installation on the date promised, effectively note all issues, and required materials necessary to complete the installation to the customers satisfaction at a later date.Communicate with relevant team members regarding incomplete work, ensuring that any new materials are ordered, the cause of the go-back can be discerned, and that customer expectations can be managed accordingly.Take care of the customer's home / business, ensuring we leave it cleaner than when we found it... use booties, etc...Close out the installation by walking customer through the care and maintenance of products, walk them through warrantee (if applicable) and how to contact us if they ever need service or have additional questionsQualifications & Educational Requirements :
4 years residential glass experience (glazing, ordering, estimating, and / or office / project management)In-home sales experience preferredHS Diploma or equivalentAll candidates must pass initial background check and drug test.Preferred Skills :
Excellent verbal / written communications skillsMicrosoft Office proficient (Word, Excel)Experience with estimating, fabricating, and / or installing residential glass productsHardworking, motivated, with excellent organizational and time-management skillsEligibility for company benefits contingent upon completion of initial employee probationary period
