About The Position

Must-Have :

Experience in caring for patients with anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, personality disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, psychotic disorders, schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, self-injurious behavior, suicidal behavior, trauma-and stressor-related disorders.

Experience with emergent chemical restraints and physical hold protocols.

Familiarity with medication administration including antianxiety, antidepressant, antipsychotic, mood stabilizers, sedatives / analgesics, and various methods of delivery.

Proficiency in behavior management techniques, crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and managing assaultive behavior.

Experience in psychoeducation.

Experience in caring for adult mental health patients.

Description :

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the specialty of Behavioral Health.

The nurse will work in an inpatient mental health unit for adults.

The ratio will be 1 : 3 during the day and 1 : 1 at night.

The nurse will need to work every other weekend.

The position involves floating to other units as needed to care for mental health patients.

Candidates must have experience in managing various mental health conditions.

The role requires skills in crisis intervention and management of assaultive behaviors.

Experience with electronic health records is essential.

The nurse will follow protocols for patient safety and medication administration.

Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team is expected.

Candidates must demonstrate expertise in therapeutic approaches and treatment modalities.

Familiarity with behavior management and safe restraint procedures is required.
