Penetration Tester

Our client is seeking a skilled Penetration Tester to join their security team and help strengthen the protection of enterprise applications and systems. In this role, you will focus on identifying vulnerabilities through deep-dive penetration testing, documenting findings, and working with technical teams to ensure remediation before risks can be exploited.

This role is fully remote.

Penetration Tester Responsibilities

  • Conduct penetration testing on web applications, APIs, and networks within defined scopes and guidelines.
  • Perform detailed analysis of vulnerabilities and provide clear, actionable remediation recommendations.
  • Document test results in comprehensive reports tailored for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with security operations, incident response, governance, and other partner teams as needed.
  • Stay current on penetration testing tools, techniques, and industry best practices.
  • Support follow-up validation testing to confirm that security gaps have been addressed.

Penetration Tester Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in IT, with at least 2 years focused on penetration testing or application security.
  • Hands-on expertise in web application testing, particularly with tools such as Burp Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of application development, networking, and system administration concepts.
  • Familiarity with both open-source and commercial penetration testing tools (e.g., intercepting proxies, packet capture, debugging, API interaction).
  • Experience with security testing in cloud environments (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, especially in preparing clear, detailed reports.
  • Self-motivated, with a strong sense of urgency and integrity.

  • Industry certifications such as GWAPT, OSCP, or GPEN.
  • Previous experience working in large, complex technical environments.
  • Ability to automate tasks through scripting or APIs.

    • Compensation : Up to $62 / hr. (DOE)
