Refactor Games is a AAA sports video game studio. We are developing the next generation of professional football (soccer) video games using Unreal Engine 5.
About the Job :
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Artist to help drive and implement our animation systems for our upcoming sports title. The ideal candidate has strong Unreal 5 development skills, a deep understanding of current game animation systems and their approaches, strong communication and collaboration skills, and a keen eye for visual results.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with animation, programming, and technical teams on the creation and tuning of in-game animation systems in Unreal 5
- Refine animation pipelines with an eye for efficiency, visual results, and ease of use
- Support animation team with tools and script support as needed
- Provide feedback and improvement approaches to in-game features and aesthetics
- Create in-game feature testbeds and support rapid system prototyping
Requirements :
5+ years of professional experience creating animation state machines in Unreal engine or equivalent experienceProven experience shipping high-performance console and / or PC titlesStrong understanding of modern game engine animation systems such as motion matching systems and state machinesStrong understanding of animation and rigging pipelines and software (Maya, Motion Builder)Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across art and engineering disciplinesAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesPluses :
Experience on sports titlesAppreciation of sports and sports gamesExperience with Shotgrid, Jira, similar production tracking softwareExperience with real-time broadcast presentationAbility to author temp animations for test systems when needed
