As the Climate and Health Resilience Strategist, you will serve as the representative for the Environmental Public Health (EPH) program within the PHD-wide collaborative effort to administer the Public Health Equity grant for local (county) public health authorities (LPHAs) and CBOs
Your responsibilities will include supporting grant administration, identifying and cultivating partnerships, providing technical assistance and training on climate resilience, facilitating peer-learning communities, developing tools, and offering program-specific support to CBOs and other public health partners. You will coordinate across Oregon Health Authority (OHA) programs and work with the PHD Director’s Office to ensure that local, tribal, and community partners have the necessary resources and support to assess and address the health impacts of climate change.
In this role, you will assess the health implications of policies and planning related to the built environment, focusing on land use, urban development, infrastructure for energy, water, and waste, brownfields, and green spaces, with the goal of integrating public health, equity, and climate considerations. You will evaluate potential health disparities associated with built environment programs, plans, and policies, and provide recommendations to other state agencies and decision-makers to promote health equity, maximize health co-benefits, and mitigate health risks. You will offer technical assistance to local and tribal jurisdictions, community partners, and other agencies, and lead efforts to foster collaboration and coordination between the public health system and land use, urban planning, municipal infrastructure, and open space programs.

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications : These qualifications must be visible in your application for consideration.
A bachelor's degree in public health, environmental or social science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills and four years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.
OR
Any combination of experience and education equivalent to seven years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification.
