Were looking for a Revenue Tax Officer to join our Customer Service Division!

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Three years of experience in accounting financial auditing tax administration tax policy or law management analysis or administrative services in a financial setting; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelors degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION :
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties :
In this role you will :
Receive and respond to incoming telephones calls and correspondence pertaining to tax due notices issued by the Department for business and individual income taxes.
Assist walk-in taxpayers with problems / questions regarding tax due notices for business and individual income taxes.
Enforce state revenue laws and assist taxpayers in complying with requirements of such laws.
Obtain and analyzes financial statements and documentation from taxpayers accountants CPAs and attorneys to determine the taxpayers ability to pay.
Assists agencies with file uploads and data analysis.
Position-Specific Details :
Appointment Type : Probational Prom otional or Detail to Special Duty open only to current permanent classified employees ofLouisiana Department of Revenue.
Compensation : The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) at each level :
The Revenue Tax Officer 1 (AS-612) has a starting rate of : $17.79 / hourly; $1423.20 biweekly.
The Revenue Tax Officer 2 (AS-613) has a starting rate of : $19.04 / hourly; $1523.20 biweekly.
