General Description
We are looking for a highly skilled and board-certified or board-eligible Gastroenterologist to join our growing GI Division. The ideal candidate will have experience caring for patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and an interest in contributing to our expanding IBD program while maintaining a broad general GI practice.
In this role, you will provide patient-centered GI care, participate in teaching GI fellows, and engage in academic activities. Experience with intestinal ultrasound is welcome but not required; training can be provided. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to general GI patients, including those with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), encompassing diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management.
- Perform standard GI procedures, including colon cancer screening and upper / lower endoscopy.
- Participate in teaching and mentoring GI fellows as part of our academic mission.
- Help grow and expand the IBD program by developing innovative approaches to patient care and treatment.
- Perform intestinal ultrasounds as part of routine clinical practice for patients with IBD.
- Participate in multidisciplinary conferences and team meetings to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Engage in academic activities, including research, presentations, and participation in continuing medical education.
- Sites of work include Scripps Jefferson location as well as main hospitals (Green and Memorial) for inpatient care / call. Ultrasound for IBD practice will be available at all sites.
- Engage in research or scholarly activity as part of academic responsibilities (0.2 FTE).
Skills / Experience
Board-certified / board-eligible Gastroenterologist.Fellowship training in Gastroenterology, with advanced fellowship training in Inflammatory Bowel Disease or IBD focused training in fellowship preferred.Experience with intestinal ultrasound is a plus, but training will be provided.Strong clinical and communication skills with a passion for patient care and education.Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.Must be committed to academic growth and research in IBD.Why Scripps Clinic Medical Group?
