The Operations Coordinator ensures that the different ministries of Bayou City Fellowship are well coordinated. This is a vital role because it is through the different ministries of the church, including corporate worship on Sundays, that the congregation experiences and engages with the church. The Ops Coordinator will report directly to the Lead Pastor of the campus. In fulfilling this role, the Ops Coordinator helps remove as much of the operational burden from our pastoral staff as possible. They will act as the liaison with the Communications Team, be the focal point for event planning for church wide events and manage the church offices for the staff. The ideal candidate must love Jesus, love God’s people and desire to collaborate with ministry leaders to improve how we work, so that our capacity for ministry is expanded.
Responsibilities include :
Operations
Evaluate operational processes and function to improve the ability for our people to connect with our ministries, staff and each other as effortlessly as possible
Maintain Planning Center profiles and keep data clean
Initiate and manage projects on an as needed basis to accomplish the Lead Campus Pastor’s vision and goals
Communications
Update and maintain portions of the Bayou City Fellowship - Spring Branch app
Create and schedule push notifications
Coordinate and edit weekly newsletter content
Create and update PCO registrations for events and ministries
Liaise with the Communications Team regarding internal and external communication and serve as the communications representative for the Spring Branch Campus
Event Planning
Plan and oversee all general church events, including registration, materials, and set-up and teardown, and coordination with vendors and contractors
Track and ensure event spending fits within the allocated budget
Delegate and track assignments to other staff and volunteers
Administration and Ministry Coordination
Consult with the Lead Campus Pastor and set the agenda for weekly staff meeting, quarterly All Staff meetings, other staff gatherings and team building activities. Track action items to completion
Respond to all incoming emails, voicemails, and website messages
Support all ministries (Kids, Students, Collective, Women, Community Groups, etc) in brainstorming, planning, preparing, and implementing relevant activities
Initiate and lead efforts to keep facilities and resources clean and organized and ready for Sunday services
Manage membership workflow
Manage office supplies and snacks
Sunday Morning Production
Coordinate elements of Sunday services and special events (welcome, announcements, communion, guest speakers, missionary commissioning, advent, etc.)
Work with the Worship Pastor, Production Director, and Lead Campus Pastor to coordinate elements of the Sunday service and special events
Plan / create / edit announcement slides for each Sunday
Edit sermon slides as needed
Manage Collective Volunteers (coordinating sign ups, sending weekly reminder emails, providing all materials needed)
Qualifications and Requirements :
2 years of related experience
Proficient in using current communications technologies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, team environment
Skill in producing clear high-quality work with attention to detail
Able to function effectively in stressful situations
Word processing and spreadsheets
Problem solver
Organized
High sensitivity to maintaining confidential information
Bachelor Degree Preferred
Work Schedule :
Sunday- Thursday, 40 hours / week
This position supports the Sunday church operation and will be required to work most Sundays. Some schedule flexibility may be required for other church events as necessary.
