The Certified Medical Assistant II performs variety of patient care, technical, and administrative duties to assist practitioners and other members of health care team in providing high quality patient care through health care system. The Medical Assistant participates as a team member in the overall functioning of the clinic. The Medical Assistant is responsible for the flow of the patients for assigned providers (as applicable) each day. They perform duties and procedures as described in the Primary Responsibilities section.

About the General Oncology Unit

Our general oncology nursing and medical assistant teams provide expert, specialized care for patients receiving assessment and treatment in a wide range of specialty areas, including women’s health, sarcoma, GI, THN, GU, ENT, renal melanoma, skin, endocrine, surgical and Phase 1 Clinics. Working collaboratively, team members in this unit care for both medical and surgical oncology patients, while also coordinating care and supporting patients’ families.

Please note that this is a part-time (0.8 FTE) position, working Tuesday-Friday from 8 : 30 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. at our South Lake Union location in the General Oncology Department.

Responsibilities

All Essential Functions of the MA I position and; Disease group MA. Provides support to a specific team in these areas :

• Leave paperwork / Prior Authorizations / Prescriptions refills
• Answering / screening incoming phone calls
• Coordinating outside labs results and notify pt. of norm labs results
• Acts as preceptor / trainer
• Reinforce compliance in billing / coding
• Facilitates distribution of clinical contacts, schedules and care management tools
• Monitor and assist with clinic flow
• Request medical record from external / internal facilities and prepare for provider review
• Collaborate with clinic nursing supervisor to develop operational strategies and process improvements for department / unit
• Assist in resolving and / or responding to non-clinical related patient complaints and inquiries

Qualifications

Required :

The hourly pay range for this position is from $31.26 to $44.51 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

his is is a part-time (0.8 FTE) position, working Tuesday-Friday from 8 : 30 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. at our South Lake Union location in the General Oncology Department.

This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus, up to $3,000.

This position is not eligible for H1-B sponsorship at this time.
