This defined retirement benefit requires 12% monthly contribution rate and includes a 100% employer match on Day 1 Learn more at Work With Us | Maricopa County, AZ Valid, unrestricted license as a licensed practical nurse issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing or issued by another state recognized by the Arizona Board of Nursing as a multi-compact license state Experience as a licensed practical nurse Experience in a medical setting, requiring large medication passes. Intravenous Infusion Therapy / Venipuncture certification Provide healthcare to patients inside the Maricopa County Jails Provide health-related education as appropriate to patient needs Administer medication and complete related pharmacological procedures Collect data for assessment of care needs, report findings, and deliver appropriate nursing interventions Monitor patient's progress and report outcomes Participate in orientation and training of new employees, contract staff, students, and others Ability to work inside a jail Ability to respond to emergencies Ability to get on the floor to perform CPR / chest compressions, push medical equipment, climb stairs, and lift patients on a gurney that may weigh up to 35 pounds Be assigned to various clinical locations in the Phoenix area within a 5-mile radius Only the most qualified candidates will be considered Consideration will only be given to candidates who submit online applications Candidates will be contacted primarily through email and their Workday online application profile Must pass a pre-employment background and / or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive

Sign-on bonus of up to $3,000 for eligible licensed practical nurses
Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. The position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.
Check out our shift differential pay in addition to our base wage :
- An additional $1.75 per hour for hours worked between 3 : 00pm - 11 : 00pm
- An additional $3.00 per hour for hours worked between 11 : 00pm - 7 : 00am

About the Position
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will be a vital member of Maricopa County's Correctional Health Team and work in partnership with Maricopa County Sheriff's Detention Officers. You will perform specialized nursing functions, including administering medications, therapeutic treatments, providing extensive patient care, and participating in the planning, implementation, and overall nursing care evaluation.
