Position Title : Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Summary : Carroll Park Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our skilled rehabilitation team. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA assists residents in achieving their highest level of functional independence by implementing treatment programs that enhance daily living skills, mobility, and overall quality of life.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Implement treatment programs established by the Occupational Therapist to improve residents’ ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs).
Assist residents with exercises, mobility training, and adaptive techniques to promote independence.
Instruct residents and caregivers on safe and effective use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices.
Observe, document, and report resident progress, responses, and changes in condition to the Occupational Therapist.
Maintain accurate and timely treatment records in accordance with facility, state, and federal guidelines.
Collaborate with therapy, nursing, and social work staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality resident care.
Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Promote resident engagement, motivation, and positive participation in therapy activities.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program .
Current, valid Maryland COTA license .
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong documentation and organizational abilities.
Compassionate, dependable, and committed to resident-centered care.
Ability to lift / move up to 50 lbs and assist with resident transfers.
Preferred : Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or rehabilitation settings.
