About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal services to various departments, including senior administrators, faculty, and staff. This role involves managing a wide range of legal inquiries, handling contract negotiations, and overseeing litigation. The Associate General Counsel will also be tasked with staying current on relevant laws and regulations, drafting and revising various legal agreements, and ensuring compliance with policies such as the Texas Public Information Act and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. Applicants for the Associate General Counsel position at the company should have a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in the State of Texas. A minimum of 5 years' experience as a licensed attorney, with a focus on contracts, employment law, constitutional law, and litigation, is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of federal, state, local, and county laws, as well as experience with compliance policies and their implementation. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. The role also demands a high level of integrity, discretion, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
