Job Summary
This is a part-time weekend position for an Operating Room Nurse, working 12-hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday from 6 AM to 6 PM, with no call required. Previous operating room experience is preferred, and experience in orthopedic and neurological procedures is a plus.
The Operating Room Nurse will collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient care using the nursing process. Responsibilities include conducting nursing assessments, assisting with exams and treatments, providing patient education, and maintaining medical records.
Minimum Qualifications
Education : Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelor of Nursing preferred.
Licenses / Certifications :
- Current State of Texas license or temporary / compact license to practice professional nursing
- Certified in Basic Life Support
- Other certifications may be required based on the specific discipline and / or nursing unit requirements
Experience / Knowledge / Skills :

Provide safe and effective patient care according to established nursing standards, considering the age and needs of the patient population served.Coordinate nursing care delivery planning with an interdisciplinary team, making informed clinical decisions for optimal patient outcomes.Collaborate with and guide the healthcare team in achieving positive results based on data, research, and professional care standards.Develop and implement comprehensive treatment and discharge / transfer plans.Participate in ongoing evaluations of programs to improve processes and ensure client-centered outcomes are met.Address diverse patient needs throughout their continuum of care to enhance the patient experience.Adhere to all regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards.Perform additional duties as assigned, consistent with clinical skills and scope of practice.Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors while complying with all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary constraints.Encourage professional growth by participating in continuing education and skills competency, contributing to departmental goals, and serving as a preceptor and mentor to less experienced staff.Other duties as assigned.
