A day in the life

You arrive on the floor and watch critical assets run, listening for subtle changes, tracing symptoms to root causes. When a machine falters, you move quickly—isolating the problem, tearing down components, inspecting parts for wear, making precise adjustments to mechanisms and control instruments, and reassembling with confidence. You validate fixes through functional tests—both electrical and mechanical—so production can get back up to speed.

• Perform mid- to expert-level break / fix and preventive maintenance, from observation-based diagnostics to full functional testing.
• Dismantle and recondition machinery, repair and replace defective components, and restore machine tools to service.
• Troubleshoot control systems to resolve hardware, software, and configuration issues.
• Leverage predictive maintenance tools to capture and interpret equipment performance data.
• Identify and source parts, supplies, and repair items to keep critical spares ready.
• Independently execute maintenance in line with industry best practices.
• Operate machine shop equipment (lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools) to fabricate / repair parts; perform welding as needed.
• Update and review CMMS records to document work and analyze equipment history.
• Champion 5S standards and housekeeping; contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on process, results, and cost savings.
• Support and mentor junior technicians; provide leadership to small teams while advancing your own skills.
• Engage in on-the-job learning and technical self-study for ongoing career development.
• Follow all safety policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines; maintain situational awareness to identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.
