Vice President, Sales

Virta Health is on a mission to transform type 2 diabetes and weight-loss care. The Vice President, Sales will captain an evolution in our sales focus and investment to capture more share of significant market growth. In the face of high market demand, growing sales channels, and increased revenue growth we will be increasing our sales & marketing investment significantly. Partner with an amazing Commercial Leadership Team, grow a professional & passionate sales team.

Commercial Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute the company's commercial operations strategy in alignment with overall business goals.
  • Partner with executive leadership to define growth priorities and establish clear commercial objectives.
  • Provide thought leadership on operational best practices to support a fast growing organization and improve all systems and processes to best practice grade.

Sales Operations

  • Oversee sales operations including forecasting, pipeline management, territory design, and incentive programs.
  • Implement tools, processes, and analytics to improve sales productivity and effectiveness.
  • Create and deliver meaningful management reporting and insight into Sales, Marketing and Client Success metrics and opportunities.
  • Revenue Operations & Performance Management

  • Lead the development of pricing, contracting, and deal governance frameworks to maximize profitability.
  • Monitor revenue performance, set KPIs, and establish dashboards for executive reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement in sales, renewal, and revenue cycle processes to ensure efficiency and scalability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a strategic partner to Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product, and Customer Success to align commercial activities.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between go-to-market teams to deliver a consistent customer experience.
  • Operational Excellence & Scalability

  • Build and optimize commercial processes, systems, and infrastructure to support rapid growth.
  • Lead CRM and other technology implementations to enhance data quality and decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards in all commercial activities.
  • Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and develop a high-performing commercial operations team, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.
  • Mentor and coach team to strengthen commercial acumen.
  • Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following :

    Build internal relationships with Virta team members, especially your peers across the Commercial Leadership Team

    Connect with key internal partners, including Finance and Legal, to understand cross-functional needs and build partnership

    Assess the structure and quality of the team and technology stack, making a clear recommendation on how to grow the organization in a scalable motion

    Oversee and improve commercial reporting for leadership insight and executive visibility

    Requirements

    Work Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in commercial operations, sales operations, revenue operations, or related functions.
  • 710 years of leadership experience , with proven success managing senior-level teams across multiple commercial disciplines.
  • Demonstrated track record of scaling commercial operations in high-growth organizations (preferably in healthcare, technology, or other complex, regulated industries).
  • Hands-on experience with sales forecasting, pipeline management, pricing models, and contract negotiations .
  • Experience leading CRM systems and sales enablement tools implementations (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).
  • Background in P&L management and financial planning is appreciated.
  • Leadership & Strategic Capabilities

  • Proven ability to develop and execute commercial strategies that drive growth and operational efficiency.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with experience collaborating across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Product.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive teams and board-level stakeholders .
  • Experience building and leading high-performing, diverse teams in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

  • Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  • MBA or other advanced degree welcomed.
