About the Role

The Company is seeking a Senior Vice President for Underwriting and Business Development in the Eastern Division. This executive-level role is pivotal in driving the strategic expansion of the property insurance portfolio, with a focus on underwriting leadership, broker and reinsurer relationships, and the execution of growth-oriented initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the underwriting and business development strategy, growing and managing a profitable book of property insurance business, and structuring facultative reinsurance programs. Key responsibilities also include building and leading high-performing underwriting teams, developing and strengthening relationships with various partners, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Applicants must have a minimum of 15 years' experience in property insurance, with a strong background in MGA operations, reinsurance structures, and fronting relationships. The role requires expertise in natural catastrophe modeling, per-risk rating methodologies, and a proven track record in developing and scaling underwriting programs. The ideal candidate will be a skilled negotiator, a strategic thinker, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A Bachelor's degree in a related discipline is required, with an MBA or CPCU being preferred. The Senior Vice President will also be expected to mentor junior staff, contribute to the design of an advanced underwriting platform, and represent the organization at key industry events.
