JOB SUMMARY

The Chief of Campus Police is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of law enforcement, security, crime prevention, safety, and parking for both the main campus and campuses within the college’s five-county (5) service area.. This role involves establishing policies and procedures that ensure the safety and well-being of the college community, including students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Additionally, the Chief will work closely with various college departments and external agencies to promote safety awareness and provide educational programs. The Chief will also be responsible for developing long-term safety and security strategies that align with the Colleges mission and values.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

WORK ACTIVITIES & EQUIPMENT

Knowledge of the use of two-way radios, computers, printers, cell phones, and other necessary law enforcement equipment to effectively operate the Campus Safety and Security office.

JOB LOCATION

The Campus Police Department, located on the main campus of Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, Tennessee, is the primary workplace. In addition to travel for trainings and conferences both state-wide and within the United States may be required. Additionally, occasional travel to off-campus sites within the college’s five (5) county service area may be required.
