About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer - Government (COO-GOV) to provide high-level administrative, technical, and professional leadership in the management of all financial, operational, and administrative functions. The COO-GOV will have oversight of a wide range of programs, including education, human services, facilities, fisheries, health and wellness, and community development. This role involves working closely with the executive management team to develop and implement strategic financial and operational goals, as well as ensuring that all activities are in line with the mission and values of the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for staff supervision, program evaluation, and maintaining compliance with all relevant laws and guidelines.
Candidates for the COO-GOV position at the company must have a Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, or a related field, with a preference for a Master's degree. A minimum of 10 years' of related program management experience, including at least 8 years' in personnel management and supervisory roles, is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Indian tribes and tribal sovereignty, as well as experience in financial and accounting structures, and modern practices of tribal government administration. Skills in strategic planning, budget administration, and effective communication are essential. The role also involves a commitment to the well-being of the community and the promotion of opportunities for tribal members.
