Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner : Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery (ICU coverage)in Detroit, MI

DMC and Tenet Healthcare, are seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join our Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery team in Detroit, MI. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside a collaborative group of orthopedic surgeons.

This will be a dynamic role working in the ICU and covering the clinical side of surgical treatment. Schedule will be Monday through Friday and based around normal business hours. While experience is always a plus, we are making the position open to new graduates.

Qualifications :

• Board-Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA)
• Michigan license (or eligibility to obtain)
• Previous orthopedic or surgical experience preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

General Summary : Under a collaborative agreement with a physician, provides patient care and education to assigned caseload of patients in accordance with established practice guidelines.

Essential Job Responsibilities :

Perform and oversee testing and other appropriate procedures.

Orders medications.

Education : Graduate of an approved and accredited Physician Assistant master?s program.

Certification : Physician Assistant license to practice in the state. CPR Certified. DEA registration with state.
