Return Specialist is responsible for managing the product return process from start to finish. This role ensures returned items are processed accurately and efficiently, customer issues are resolved promptly, and company policies are followed. The Return Specialist works closely with customer service, warehouse, logistics, and quality assurance teams to maintain smooth reverse-logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, review, and process incoming product returns in accordance with company policies.
- Inspect returned merchandise for condition, defects, or discrepancies.
- Determine appropriate disposition of returned items (restock, repair, refund, replacement, disposal).
- Coordinate with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure accurate stock updates.
- Communicate with customers regarding return status, required documentation, or missing information.
- Issue refunds, credits, or replacements in the system with high accuracy.
- Investigate return-related issues, such as incorrect shipments or damaged goods.
- Maintain detailed records of all returns and track trends for reporting.
- Collaborate with quality assurance to identify product issues or patterns.
- Ensure compliance with company return policies and industry regulations.
