Behavior Specialist
Responsible To : Administrator and Director of Health Services or their designee.
Function :
As a member of the Interdisciplinary Team, the Behavior Specialist will provide direct input in the assessment and program plans of clients being served by the Agency and in the design and implementation of individual Behavior Management Programs.
Specific Duties : Include, but are not limited to the following :
- Performs psychological evaluations to assess the client's mental, psychological, behavioral and adaptive functioning and determines individual programmatic needs.
- Provides such psychological information to the Interdisciplinary Team at the initial treatment meeting and quarterly review, and participates in the formulation and review of a comprehensive treatment plan for each individual Agency client.
- Assists the Direct Care Staff and Supervisors in the design and implementation of individual programmatic goals and objectives.
- Assists the Direct Care Staff and Supervisors in the design and implementation of individual Behavior Management Programs and monitors all such programs.
- Provides staff development training in behavior management techniques, mental development, psychological evaluation, design and implementation of programmatic goals and objectives, and other areas as needed or requested.
- Provides psychological consultation services regarding client programming to Agency staff as requested.
- Performs any other related duties as requested by Director of Health Services, Director of Clinical service, Administrator and / or Psychological and Psychiatric Consultants.
- Required to conduct onsite clinical assessments as determined interdisciplinary team.
- Required basic computer skills with knowledge in Microsoft Office.
- Requires on call responsibilities.

Education :
Masters Degree in Psychology or related field with at least one year of experience or Bachelors Degree and at least three years experience in the field of intellectual disabilitiesLicense / Certification :
Driver's License (Required)Work Location : Waterbury, CT. Must be able to travel to meetings and appointments throughout the state.
