Purpose of Role

The Department of Nursing invites applications for an adjunct clinical instructor position in NUR 417, Professional Nursing Practice II, within our RN-BS nursing program. In this role, the adjunct instructor will work closely with students as they complete external learning experiences in nursing leadership and quality improvement assignments.

About This Opportunity

NUR 417, Professional Nursing Practice II This course prepares students with the knowledge and skills in leadership, communication, interprofessional teamwork and quality improvement systems that are necessary to provide quality health care. Group dynamics and group processes are examined. The course emphasizes ethical and critical thinking / clinical reasoning skills used to initiate and maintain effective working relationships and develop conflict resolution strategies in professional practice. Leadership theory and management functions in contemporary nursing practice will be explored. This course enhances nurses' ability to manage themselves and others effectively within the context of change occurring within the healthcare system.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree or higher in Nursing Current licensure and experience as a Registered Nurse Experience as a nurse leader or manager Strong communication and teaching skills Previous teaching or clinical instruction experience preferred
