Under the general supervision of the Director / Manager of Imaging Services, the Scheduling clerk is responsible for the scheduling of outpatient procedures for Imaging and Cath Lab as part of the pre-registration process. They also provide service to the technologists working in all modalities. Taking extra steps to assist anyone needing our service, to process and maintain patient information for all procedures, and providing the service professionally and courteously is expected of all scheduling staff. Our goal is to deliver prompt service to patients and expedient report times to our physicians.

What you will do in this role :

• Obtains all appropriate information required for the scheduling of outpatient procedures
• Ensures quality care for patients, adhering to policies, procedures, and standards.
• Utilizes clerical skills efficiently in fulfilling position responsibilities.
• Can handle a high-volume workload accurately & handle high stress situation.
• Proficient in utilization of computer systems to accomplish position responsibilities
• Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory / continuing education.
• Always Upholds the highest standards of customer service ("customer" includes patients, family members, co-workers, referring physicians, etc.)
• Actively participates in Performance Improvement (P.I.) activities established by the Imaging Department.
• Possesses a knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to work accurately within the Imaging Department.
• Serves as a mentor and resource less experienced staff / students.
• Completes other tasks and activities as assigned.
• Adheres to the Customer Services Principles of HCA Medical Center.
