Position Summary :
The IT Knowledge Manager plays a critical role in ensuring effective documentation, collaboration, and information governance across enterprise IT environments. This role is responsible for maintaining structured, version-controlled content in SharePoint and other collaborative platforms, while supporting multiple stakeholders and aligning with Department of Defense (DoD) standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Maintain and update SharePoint portals, ensuring appropriate access, document availability, and organizational structure for version control and collaboration.
Support ESA-BAD, PEO, and IOD teams with document creation, formatting, and lifecycle maintenance.
Create and maintain SOPs, OLAs, MOAs / MOUs, EXSUMs, policies, briefings, and governance artifacts.
Participate in knowledge management process improvement efforts aligned with DoD and ITIL standards.
Perform technical editing and document formatting to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with templates and style guides.
Use Microsoft Office tools and desktop publishing software to generate professional-grade documentation and process diagrams.
Manage a centralized Service Knowledge Management System (SKMS) with controlled document versioning.
Promote collaboration among technical SMEs, engineers, leadership, and support teams to ensure accurate and timely content delivery.
Contribute to change management awareness via reporting tools such as DHA J6 Report of the Day.
Establish and enforce document lifecycle procedures, metadata standards, and publication workflows.
Preferred Tools & Technologies :
SharePoint Online (portal management and site design)
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio)
Adobe Acrobat, SnagIt, and other documentation tools
Familiarity with DoD templates, ITIL processes, and enterprise KM systems
Experience with Configuration Management or System Engineering documentation is a plus
Minimum Education & Certification Requirements :
Candidates must meet one of the following combinations :
Certification : ITIL v4 Foundation
AND one of the following :
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline
DoD 8140 Baseline Certification (e.g., Security+ CE, GSEC)
Completion of DoD / Military Training (e.g., K-2G-7010)
