OVERVIEW :

The Performance Analyst supports the City’s efforts to improve government effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability through data-informed decision making. The Analyst is responsible for coordinating agency performance plans and tracking data from citywide indicators. The Analyst conducts research, assists agencies in establishing and reporting out on metrics, provides performance reporting as part of the City’s budget process, and partners with departments to drive measurable improvements aligned with citywide goals and strategic priorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Track and analyze departmental performance measures and key indicators.

Facilitate the process for collecting performance plan information as part of the City’s budget process.

Design dashboards, scorecards, and performance reports that communicate results to leadership, stakeholders, and the public.

Coordinate with the Office of CitiStat to provide quarterly performance reporting and flag performance issues or opportunities for improvement.

Support agencies in defining goals, outcomes, and performance measures.

Facilitate logic model development and performance planning processes.

Prepare and deliver trainings to agencies on goal setting and performance management.

Track data metrics for citywide indicators and prepare ongoing analysis regarding trends and themes impacting these indicators.

Lead or support special projects, operational reviews, or program evaluations.

Identify key benchmarks and best practices from peer cities regarding performance management.

Develop systems to track and maintain data for the City’s network of performance measures.

Serve as a liaison to City agencies to provide technical assistance and performance management guidance.

Present findings and prepare briefings for internal leadership, agency staff, and external stakeholders.

Promote a culture of performance and accountability.

Identify and recommend process improvements and best practices from peer jurisdictions.

Background Check

Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointments to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and / or Fingerprint must be successfully completed.

Probation

All candidates, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory six-month probation.
