Grants Manager
We are looking for a skilled and results-driven Grants Manager to join our team on a 90-day contract basis, with the possibility of extension. This role focuses on redesigning and implementing comprehensive grant accounting processes while utilizing Sage Intacct software to optimize reporting, billing, and dynamic allocations. Based in Baltimore, Maryland, this position requires a hands-on approach to ensure sustainable and repeatable practices are established.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct a thorough evaluation of current grant accounting systems, workflows, and standard operating procedures.
- Develop and execute a detailed project plan, including milestones, resource allocation, and timelines.
- Configure and implement Sage Intacct to support grant projects, ensuring automation of billing and dynamic allocations.
- Create dashboards and reporting mechanisms tailored for senior leadership and organizational needs.
- Redesign grant-related processes and document detailed SOPs to enable efficient cross-training and future use.
- Ensure all grant accounting practices align with compliance requirements and are fully operational.
- Collaborate closely with the Controller, Grant Accountant, and Program Director to drive project success.
- Provide regular updates through bi-weekly progress reports and onsite meetings every third business day.
- Monitor project milestones and ensure deliverables are tested, operational, and meet organizational goals.
Requirements :
Proven experience managing grant accounting systems implementation, with specific examples of past success.Extensive knowledge of federal and state grant management processes.Expertise in Sage Intacct software; familiarity with similar systems like GP or NetSuite is an asset.Strong understanding of grant reporting, billing automation, dynamic allocations, and compliance requirements.Ability to document workflows and design sustainable processes for ongoing use.Exceptional problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented mindset.Demonstrated ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with stakeholders.Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in grant management and financial reporting.
