Job Purpose
The purpose of this position is to install, configure, and maintain the campus
network infrastructure.

Essential Functions
The overall purpose of this job is to provide installation, configuration,
maintenance, and technical support for the campus network infrastructure,
including hardware, software, and connected services like video security and
access control. This role ensures high network availability and performance,
resolves technical issues for end-users, and collaborates on new infrastructure
deployments and system documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
An associate’s degree from an accredited institution, or 60 semester hours, in
Networking Technology, Computer Technology, or a closely related discipline.
At least two years of related professional experience including one year of
relevant experience in network support, installation, and troubleshooting.
Required Knowledge : Computer networking principles, protocols, and operations.
Network hardware (switches, routers, WAPs). Unix-based and Windows
operating systems. Category 6 / 6a cabling requirements and basic electronic
principles.
Required Skills : Knowledge of basic electronic diagnosis and repair. Proficiency
in word processing and spreadsheet applications. Ability to terminate Category
6 / 6a twisted-pair in appropriate connectors.
Preferred Qualifications
Single-Mode and Multi-Mode fiber optic cable requirements and termination
ability. Knowledge of access control systems. Experience in a higher education
environment.
Work Hours
Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. – 4 : 30 p.m. Must be available to
serve in an on-call rotation, including weekends. Must be available for
unexpected emergencies. Must be available to work extended shifts. This
position requires the ability to occasionally adjust shift schedule to perform
maintenance and upgrades outside of business hours.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary
Commensurate with education and experience. Pay grade 11.
