Hazen and Sawyer is seeking an enthusiastic Hydraulic Modeler for our Atlanta, Georgia office. The candidate would have an academic or professional background in hydraulic modeling related to wastewater conveyance and water distribution systems to support the Conveyance Practice Group. This opportunity involves working with a growing team of hydraulic modelers on a variety of projects locally, regionally, and nationwide.

Key Responsibilities :
Develop and calibrate hydraulic models for both water and sewer systems and analyzing model results to develop recommendations for our clientsAssist on master planning and design projectsEvaluate design storms and wet-weather performance for wastewater systems and recommend rehabilitation prioritiesPerform pump station and force-main analyses for both water and wastewater systems to assess capacity, reliability, and energy efficiencyConduct distribution-system water-quality analysesPerform transient and surge analyses for critical water and wastewater infrastructureDevelop future water demand and wastewater flow projectionsDesign and deliver digital tools and dashboardsPrepare clear, concise technical reports and presentationsFieldwork and site visits from design through construction may be requiredAnalyze and process large amounts of complex dataRequired Qualifications :
0-5 years of experienceStrong interest in hydraulic modeling and water industryKnowledge hydraulic principles and analyses, as well as experience with or a strong desire to learn hydraulic modeling softwareExperience with Microsoft Office productsExcellent communication skillsAbility to easily move around in the field as needed to install, operate, and maintain hydraulic measurement equipmentAbility to work with a team or independentlyAbility to travel locally with potential for periodic overnight travel regionallyStrong critical thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving and organizational skillsBachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, or mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited U.S. programPreferred Qualifications :
EIT or ability to obtain within 12 monthsExperience with hydraulic evaluations for water and wastewater utilitiesExperience with ArcGIS or ArcGIS Pro softwareExperience with InfoWater, WaterCAD, InfoWorks ICM or PCSWMMFamiliarity with scripting languages (Python, R), SQL, etc.Strong experience with Microsoft ExcelMaster of Science or Master of Engineering degree
