Job Summary / Description :

WCJB TV News seeks a talented and energetic meteorologist / journalist to join our award-winning team. We are looking for a qualified Meteorologist who can prepare and deliver weather forecasts and weather information, as well as report as an MMJ for our news segments on WCJB TV.

Duties / Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) :

  • Analyze weather data and prepare detailed forecasts
  • Prepare graphics to support the weather presentation
  • Conversational On-air presentation
  • Flexible schedule for severe weather scenarios
  • Report stories for our news segments as an MMJ
  • Post content to the website and station social media platforms

Qualifications / Requirements :

  • A Bachelor's degree in meteorology
  • Prior experience as a broadcast meteorologist (amount will vary depending on specific position)
  • Strong on-air communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of an on-air weather team and part of a news team
  • Ability to be creative with graphic design and presentation
