Job Summary : The position of QA Supervisor is that of liaison between the QA Manager and the QC technicians. The role is designed to provide oversight of QC department personnel and ensure that department policies, and products meet company, customer and regulatory food safety and quality standards.

Position Responsibilities :

  • Able to perform all requirements of QC Technician (analytical testing, line inspections, CCP monitoring, etc.)
  • Enforce all safety, food safety, and quality policies where appropriate. Review and enforce food safety and quality systems daily. Address, develop, and implement procedures and measures to improve food safety and quality.
  • Review food safety, quality, and production paperwork, validating documentation and compliance.
  • Analyze certificates of analysis on incoming raw ingredients to make sure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Schedule the QC Technician’s weekly work schedule. Oversee the day-to-day activities of QC Technicians.
  • Assist in the investigation of customer complaints and implement preventative measures.
  • Perform internal audits (GMP, Food Safety Inspections, Glass Audit, etc).
  • Performs sanitation validation with allergen and hygiene swab testing.
  • Review process quality data and implement continuous improvements in the areas of Food Safety and Quality.
  • Train and implement work SOPs, GMPs, and customer-driven programs.
  • Review and address ingredient issues, work-in-progress, finished products, and packaging materials that are on QA hold.
  • Oversee the daily needs of the QC lab and maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration of equipment and tools as required.
  • Coach, train, and review QC technicians on their job performance and daily duties.
  • Provide support in root cause analysis for internal issues or customer complaints and implement corrective actions along with preventative measures.
  • Interact with production staff and QC Techs to remedy food safety and quality manufacturing issues.
  • Provide support and expertise to cross-functional teams and departments in relation to quality standards, food safety, or personal safety.
  • Perform any additional delegated tasks or special projects assigned by QA Supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

    Position Qualifications, Education, and Experience

    Meet and exceed all Minimum Requirements plus the following :

  • Associate's Degree or higher in a science-related field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the food manufacturing industry
  • Excellent communication skills, able to speak to and direct groups
  • Specific food manufacturing training / certifications (HACCP, SQF, PCQI)
  • Knowledge of the food safety scope.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully contributing to teams in a dynamic, fast time-to-market, and customer-focused environment

  • Flexible schedule based on production needs, including weekends
