Vice President of Global Customs Brokerage
The Vice President of Global Customs Brokerage contributes to the global strategy and execution of customer solutions to ensure highly efficient global services which exceeds customer expectations. The VP will manage and perform activities focusing on yield management, operations, procurement, reporting and analysis. Proactive engagement with sales, operations and customers delivering exceptional service while maintaining best in class supplier relations within the industry, with a goal of optimizing costs, increasing revenues and improving overall profitability. This position reports to the President of Port Services.
Responsibilities
- Plans the implementation and support of new / upgraded warehouse and office operating systems including computer systems and manual systems required in the administration of the operation.
- Conducts audit of the facility administration and supply necessary training.
- Periodic duties will include the administration required for a physical inventory and reconciliation.
- Maintenance of lease and customer files at the regional level.
- Develops and coordinates special events within the region.
- Reviews of regional accounts receivables.
- Occasional duties will include sales calls when administration of the account is an issue at the discretion of the President.
- Assists management on troubleshooting financial or operational design problems analyzing and remedying the problem in working with the project management.
- Facilitates and organizes startup process of new operations and assists operations manager to ensure smooth transition.
- Exceed dedicated customers expectations by providing superior service, creative and efficient logistics solutions while continually developing and enhancing business relationships.
- Develop and manage margin, service and cost efficiency programs as directed by the President of Global.
- Grow dedicated business through both NFIs existing customers and non-dedicated business, while also growing third party revenue generation
- Efficiently manage all administrative functions and reporting requirements both internally for senior management and for external customers
- Lead and develop NFIs most valuable resource, its people, by providing a positive work environment through consistent communication, promoting accountability, and recognizing superior results.
- Work closely with NFI divisions Port Services, Distribution, Transportation, Intermodal, Canada, and Brokerage to generate international business and generate business back to these divisions.
- Coordinates and communicates with all NFI support staff including Safety, Maintenance and Human Resources for operational needs and requirements.
- Attendance of industry / professional meetings and conferences.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree required or other quantitative discipline required.Customs Broker LicenseAt least 10 years of managerial or operations experience in a logistics operation globally / 10 years preferred.Computer applications using MS office.Problem solving skills with clients required.Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees, executives and customers required.Experience with Logistics, Transportation, or related functions at a P&L ownership level preferred.Ability to follow-up with multiple stakeholders and get things done required.Ability to interact and manage customer expectations / metrics for on-time delivery and other requirements required.Excellent supervisory skillsExcellent customer service skillsExcellent analytical and mathematical skillsEqual Opportunity Employer / Protected Veterans / Individuals with Disabilities
