Base Pay

$100,000 – $130,000 per year

Job Overview

Director of Fundraising & Development for a global nonprofit focused on student success. 100% remote role, must be local to VA, MD or DC.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that aligns with our organization’s mission and goals.
  • Conduct research to identify potential donors and build strong relationships with them.
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects, ensuring high levels of engagement and satisfaction.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of special fundraising events.
  • Work closely with the board of directors, keeping them informed of fundraising progress and involving them in fundraising activities.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support fundraising efforts.
  • Secure corporate sponsorships and foundation grants to support our organization’s work.
  • Develop and manage the annual giving program, including direct mail, online giving, and other fundraising initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on fundraising activities and progress, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Work closely with other team members to ensure alignment between fundraising activities and the organization’s mission and goals.

    • Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in fundraising and development in a nonprofit setting.
  • Proven track record of successful fundraising, including major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and foundation grants.
  • Strong knowledge of donor research and relationship management.
  • Experience in planning and executing successful fundraising events.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and manage volunteers.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to set goals and develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
  • Experience in working with board members and other high‑level volunteers.
  • Proficiency in using donor management software and other fundraising technology.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or CFRE certification is a plus.
