Process Engineer

Titan Florida, LLC seeks a Process Engineer to work at the company’s Pennsuco plant in Medley, Florida. Responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the operations of the plant equipment at Titan’s Pennsuco Cement plant to ensure attainment of plant objectives, cost efficiency and adherence to industry safety, security, and hygiene standards. Will perform the following duties :

Process Engineer Responsibilities Include :

  • Review and monitor plant operations and analyze problems that compromise production or quality.
  • Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems.
  • Review, analyze and monitor material handling, raw milling, and kiln-pyro operations. Oversee pre-heater kilns, dry cement kilns and coolers to monitor the pyro-process operations, evaluate performance and recommend improvement and / or modification to standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure environmental compliance by reporting, auditing and future planning.
  • Contribute to the company’s variable costs by making process and equipment operation more efficient and effective.
  • Conduct process audits, flow measurements, mass and heat balances as and when required.
  • Process data validation and verify accuracy of the process signals.
  • Develop budgets and approve expenditures for supplies, materials and human resources. Train personnel in mill and kiln operations.
  • Evaluate operator performance, develop training plans, train and assess operator progress and efficiency; including demonstrating track records for employee training.
  • Work with advance process control system (i.e., Fuzzy logic / Expert control / PXP systems).

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Chemical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering or an equivalent foreign degree;
  • Two years of relevant engineering experience in the cement production industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of rotary cement kiln and milling operations, pyro-processes and interdependency of equipment operation efficiencies and their impact on quality;
  • Practical knowledge of various cement manufacturing equipment;
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; and
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
