Description : Summary :
The Assistant Buyer supports the supply chain process by coordinating purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and maintaining accurate records in SAP. This role focuses on ensuring timely procurement of parts, materials, and services while maintaining strong vendor communication and follow-up. The Assistant Buyer works closely with Buyers, user groups, and suppliers to help maintain product availability, resolve order issues, and contribute to an efficient and reliable supply chain.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders in SAP accurately and efficiently.
- Track, confirm, and follow up on all purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery.
- Maintain strong communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding order status, delays, or issues.
- Support Buyers in sourcing alternative suppliers, pricing checks, and product availability when needed.
- Assist with expediting late or urgent orders and resolving delivery discrepancies.
- Process returns of equipment, repairs, and parts as required.
- Help monitor and maintain reporting for order status, deliveries, and material tracking.
- Support investigation and resolution of non-conformance reports (NCRs) by providing timely documentation and supplier communication.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide updates, answer questions, and suggest process improvements where appropriate.
- Maintain organized records of orders, communications, and follow-ups to ensure visibility and accountability.
- Support supply chain procedures and ensure compliance with company standards and safety practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the Supply Chain team.
Requirements :
Education and Experience :
Associate’s degree in business or related field preferred; bachelor’s degree a plus.1 - 3 years of purchasing, supply chain, or procurement experience.Prior experience using SAP required.Requirements and Qualifications :
Strong follow-up and tracking skills with attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication skills (verbal and written).Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Highly organized with strong problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and SAP.Demonstrated integrity, flexibility, and adaptability.LI-PW1
