Concessions Manager

Concessions Manager supports the Food and Beverage operation at multiple entertainment venues in Grand Rapids, MI with a focus on scheduling, inventory management, staff training and all other aspects of the position. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises the concessions employees in the preparation and service of food and refreshments, as well as clean up
  • Supervises the Assistant Concessions manager and their duties on event and non-event days
  • Assists in the training of concessions employees engaged in the preparing and cooking foods to ensure high quality, efficient and profitable food service
  • Manages Food and Beverage inventory, according to anticipated demand and familiarity with public taste in food and beverages
  • Directs storage, preparation, and serving of Food and Beverage by other workers at refreshment stand or circulating throughout the audience
  • Assigns concessions workers to locations
  • Tabulates receipts and balances accounts
  • Manages inventory at end of each day or other designated period
  • Works within guidelines for food and labor expenses
  • Ability to travel for the company to other properties to work events.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends & ASM policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and / or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university.
  • 1 to 2 years related experience and / or training.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous management experience in a similar venue.
  • Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to control costs, generate increased revenue and manage financial reporting.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to train workers in preparation and cooking of foods to ensure high quality, efficient and profitable food service.
  • Ability to manage several direct reports.
  • Mature judgment and professionalism in handling all matters.
  • Ability to understand orders.
