We are looking for a skilled Payroll Administrator to join our team in Charleston, South Carolina, on a contract basis. This position focuses on managing payroll processes for a diverse workforce, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payroll regulations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in payroll systems and a strong understanding of employment laws.
Responsibilities :
- Compile and organize payroll-related data, ensuring timely and accurate entry into payroll systems.
- Collaborate with office staff to address general payroll updates and resolve specific payroll issues.
- Process bi-weekly and monthly payrolls for a workforce of over 400 permanent and seasonal employees.
- Support the allocation and organization of designated funds during payroll processing.
- Provide assistance to faculty and staff with payroll-related inquiries and concerns.
- Maintain both electronic and physical records of payroll documents in an organized manner.
- Generate and distribute payroll reports to relevant office personnel.
- Ensure compliance with payroll rules, regulations, and internal controls.
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Controller.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of three years of experience managing complex payroll processes.
- Proficiency with payroll systems and database management.
- Strong understanding of payroll rules, regulations, and internal controls.
- Intermediate skills in Google Docs and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to manage payroll for organizations with 101-500 employees.
- Familiarity with Paylocity and employment law.
- Demonstrated expertise in processing bi-weekly payrolls.
