The Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager, Contracts within the Global Patriot program area. We are looking for an experienced candidate to provide oversight and leadership to a team of Contracts Professionals supporting the NATO Program portfolio. The portfolio is predominately comprised of Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) for the production, integration, technical assistance, and sustainment of the Patriot system to NATO and its partner nations.

In this role, you will have direct supervisory responsibilities while also leading the front-end assessment of business pursuits, proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract management, and significant customer activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment of contract requirements in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.

You will need to utilize regular application of strong business acumen and subject matter expertise to understand program performance requirements, develop contractual and negotiation strategy, provide guidance, and influence results in support of program and financial objectives. Additionally, the Senior Manager, Contracts is required to work closely with Program Management leadership, the Office of General Counsel, and cross-functional peers in support of program gate reviews, program management reviews, business strategy sessions, proposal reviews, risk management activities, and all other contractual related matters affecting the portfolio.

The successful candidate will work with both internal and external customers to ensure successful program performance and influence outcomes to achieve desired results and should have a track record of success in Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) contracting, international financing principles, familiarity with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and leadership aptitude. Additionally, this role will be expected to have the prerequisite skills and experience to represent Raytheon independently on significant transactions while having the ability to develop and maintain trusting relationships with complex customers.

What You Will Do

  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers to establish mutually beneficial relationships and influence business decisions
  • Implement strategies to improve acquisition timelines and customer pace of contractual actions
  • Investigate and resolve complex contractual matters by applying astute critical thinking, gathering detailed information, seeking innovative contracting techniques, and proactively collaborating with relevant stakeholders
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance on numerous contractual rights / obligations, regulations, and policy / procedure to mitigate risks and unauthorized changes
  • Review proposals to ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements, represent a balanced risk / opportunity posture and deliver a financially sound business case while meeting company policies and standards
  • Coach, manage, and strategically lead the NATO contracts team to continuously improve the overall quality, capability, and bench strength of the contract's organization

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' relevant experience
  • Experience in Direct Commercial Sales contracting for development, production, sustainment, and services
  • Experience with proposal development, which may include fact-finding and negotiations
  • Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience working contracts with international partners
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and develop effective relationships based on respect and trust
  • MBA or Juris Doctor
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with complex customers
  • Demonstrated ability to shape results in support of objectives, including ability to communicate and influence executive leadership

    Onsite : Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

    This role qualifies for relocation assistance.

    The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education / training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and / or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
