JOB SUMMARY : To support the medical records department through a variety of clerical, technical and related support services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Reviews each request for information / copies of medical records to assure that the patient and / or guardian signed the authorization for release of information and that the authorization is completed in accordance with Federal and State laws, and hospital policy.
• Copies the requested records and assures that the copies are legible.
• Processes all discharges within hours of discharge.

Qualifications

Job Requirements :

Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.

Three years of experience with Medical Records or a combination of related education and experience.
